Hey guys! Horrorella here...

Musician and PORTLANDIA co-creator/star Carrie Brownstein is set to make her theatrical debut. THR reports that she will be joining Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara in CAROL. The film is an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s celebrated 1950’s lesbian novel The Price of Salt.

Mara will play Therese, a young department store clerk who develops a relationship with another woman (Blanchett) she spies shopping one day. Brownstein joins the cast as Genevieve Cantrell, a woman who "has an encounter with Therese."

This film is the latest from director Todd Haynes (I’M NOT THERE, FAR FROM HEAVEN). It went through a bit of a casting change when Mara replaced Mia Wasikowska last year, but has since added Kyle Chandler and Sarah Paulson. The film is slated to begin shooting later this month.
