THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART II just got a little more badass! Variety reports that GAME OF THRONES' Gwendoline Christie has joined the cast as Commander Lyme. She replaces Lily Rabe (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) who had to leave the project due to a scheduling conflict.
Gwendoline Christie plays the character Breinne of Tarth on GAME OF THRONES - a character who would have no problem handling herself in the Hunger Games arena. Her MOCKINGJAY character, Commander Lyme, is a former victor from District 2, and a current leader of District 13. She is described as being a muscular woman, so Christie seems like a better visual fit and presance for the role.
Brienne is a great character, and Christie's performance has really been a hit with GOT fans. It will be interesting to see her step outside of that role and into the HUNGER GAMES universe.
