What the &#$% is ZOMBIES & SHARKS?

Greetings, all. It’s Ambush Bug with some low budget, home video, and independent horror news—bite size, just how you zombies like it!

The streets flow red with Vengeance in PMS COP!

This is the first time I’m hearing about it, but there’s some kind of crazy genius as play by combining a pre-menstrual woman with a badge and a gun. Now, I don’t expect the women in the audience are going to be as thrilled, but something about the premise of this film had me laughing my ass off. I plan on watching the film and reviewing it for next week’s column just in time for its premiere on FullMoonStreaming.com next Friday April 4th.

The film is described as; PMS COP follows the story of police officer Mary Collins, who is informed by her commanding officer that she needs counseling, after being caught on camera brutally beating a clown rapist. Her therapist quickly concludes that she suffers from extreme PMS and enrolls her in a drug trial for the new menstrual wonder drug Corybantic. Mary responds positively until a devastating incident throws her into a monstrous drug-induced killing frenzy. Soon everyone who comes into contact with the PMS cop realizes it IS her time of the month.

WOLFCOP is on the hunt for a new tagline!

I had a chance to interview Lowell Dean, the creator/director/writer of the new horror comedy WOLFCOP hot off the heels of the trailer for the film winning the CineCoup competition last year. I premiered the poster for the film by Tom “The Dude” Hodge last week and this week, we’ve got some of the first screen shots released from the film!

The folks behind WOLFCOP are also running a tagline contest. Submit your entries on Facebook or Tweet: @WolfCopTheMovie #TweetTaglineContest. Winner gets mention in film’s end credits and the tagline headlines the official theatrical poster by award-winning poster illustrator Tom Hodge, aka The Dude. Contest closes Wednesday, April 2 end of day.

Find out more about WOLFCOP on it’s website here and check it out when it hits theaters on June 6th!

New clip from MR.JONES looks promising…but still hand-held and shaky!

A new found footage film that’s getting some positive buzz is MR. JONES; set to be released next month on May 6th on BluRay and DVD from Anchor Bay. The film is described as;

Scott (Jon Foster of STAY ALIVE) and Penny (Sarah Jones of “Sons Of Anarchy”) just moved to a remote cabin to escape the pressures of the world and breathe new life into their art. But they’ll soon discover they are not alone: an infamously reclusive artist – known only as ‘Mr. Jones’ – lives nearby. He doesn’t like to be disturbed, and only comes out at night when he drags his strange, sinister sculptures deep into the woods. When Scott and Penny’s curiosity leads them too close for Mr. Jones’ comfort, he plunges the young couple into a nightmare world of mayhem, madness and mind-bending terror.

MR. JONES will also have an exclusive Los Angeles limited theatrical engagement beginning May 2nd. Here’s the clip from the film!

Find out how a T-Rex swims with those little arms in POSEIDON REX!

We premiered the cover art for POSEIDON REX last week here on AICN HORROR News and this time around, I’ve got an exclusive clip from the film. Anderson Digital will be releasing POSEIDON REX on iTunes and in theaters on April 18th. The film is directed by Mark L. Lester and stars Brian Krause, Anne Daniels, Steven Helmkamp and Candice Nunes. Here’s the official synopsis;

A small, secluded island off the coast of Belize suddenly finds itself terrorized by a deadly predator from the planet’s distant past, when deep-sea divers accidentally awaken an ancient evil. Jackson Slate and his team of underwater cave explorers unearth much more than long-lost Mayan treasure while plumbing the depths of a world famous blue hole. They disturb a creature that’s been hibernating for over 60,000 years - a rampaging behemoth of death and destruction not only at sea but also on land.

This THROWBACK will make you scream Yowie!

The new Australian horror feature THROWBACK will have its North American premiere at the upcoming Famous Monsters Film Festival in San Jose, California. The festival runs from 17th-18th May in conjunction with Big Wow ComicFest, one of the largest pop culture conventions in Northern California. Writer/director Travis Bain and actors Shawn Brack and Vernon Wells will make special appearances at the festival.

The film is described as; two modern-day treasure-hunters, a female park ranger and an embittered ex-cop who encounter a Yowie, a savage Bigfoot-like creature, in the jungles of northern Australia. An homage to pulp adventure thrillers and monster movies of yesteryear, THROWBACK stars Shawn Brack, Anthony Ring, Melanie Serafin and Vernon Wells (THE ROAD WARRIOR, COMMANDO).

Ju wanna see a clip from JINN, D’jinn’t ya?

The new film JINN is going to be released theatrically this Friday April 4th from Exxodus Pictures and Freestyle Releasing written and directed by Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad. Here’s the official synopsis of the film;

Shawn (Dominic Rains), an automotive designer, enjoys an idyllic life with his new wife Jasmine (Serinda Swan) until receiving a cryptic VHS tape. Having lost his parents to a fire as a young child, Shawn is shocked to discover a bizarre message from his biological father recorded shortly before his death. In the video, Shawn’s father relays details of a prophecy and warns of a curse afflicting his bloodline. After viewing the video, Shawn’s world is infiltrated by inexplicable phenomena, culminating in the mysterious abduction of his wife. Desperate to find her, Shawn heeds the advice of his father and seeks help in the form of Gabriel (Ray Park), a mysterious guardian. Under Gabriel’s tutelage, Shawn learns of a third race of creatures – mercurial beings known as the jinn – with the ability to selectively interfere in what we know to be real life. Forced to confront ancient realities and a formidable prophecy, Shawn must fulfill his legacy and confront the Shayateen, an evil sect of jinn, if he ever hopes to see his wife again.
