Papa Vinyard here, now here's a little somethin' for ya...
From the director of FINAL DESTINATION 5 comes another disaster-driven flick, this one centered on the most vicious tornadoes you've seen this side of Kansas. INTO THE STORM doesn't have any big stars (you won't recognize Thorin Oakenshield himself, Richard Armitage, as the lead, and Lori from THE WALKING DEAD doesn't count), but it looks like it puts its money where it's mouth is in terms of large-scale environmental destruction. Some of these shots are genuinely intense and well-executed, and seemingly not in that SKYLINE way where it teases what it couldn't deliver.
I LOVE that mid-budget flicks without massive studio support or marquee names can achieve this type of production value, and are now able to throw down in the summer movie marketplace. Hopefully, we're not seeing all there is to see from INTO THE STORM, and it can be at least as entertaining as TWISTER was 18 years ago (or, if not, CLOVERFIELD).
