We finally have our first look at the new TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES:
This footage seems to be very divisive, with a lot of fans really upset that the back story was altered to have Shredder (William Fichtner) and April O’Neil’s father being the ones responsible for the creation of the TMNT. That really doesn’t bother me much, but what does bother me is our first look at some of the action here. I really hated BATTLE: LA and the quick cutting, unintelligible action and it appears that Jonathan Liebesman brought that over with him to this film.
Also, not a big fan of how the turtles actually look. I know the CGI will get better but their actual design just looks ugly and creepy to me.
So basically, I didn’t have much hope that we were going to get a decent film that was directed by Liebesman, produced by Michael Bay, starring Megan Fox, and this trailer does nothing to change that. I'm interested to see what you guys think of it though, as again, this footage seems to be pretty polarizing.
I guess we will find out if our worst fears have been realized when TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES hit theaters August 8th.
