USA Today has premiered the first images from the upcoming crime drama THE DROP. The film stars Tom Hardy as a man with a checkered past, trying to go straight for the first time. James Gandolfini, in his last onscreen role, plays Hardy's cousin, another former criminal, who works alongside Hardy's character at a bar (which also happens to be the drop point for a local crime ring).
The film is being written by Dennis Lehane (his first theatrical screenplay credit), who wrote the novels Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River. The film is being directed by BULLHEAD's Michael Roskam. The film co-stars Matthias Schoenaerts and Noomi Rapace.
THE DROP opens September 19th.
