Hey guys! Horrorella here...
Kelly Reichardt’s newest film, NIGHT MOVES, was received quite positively when it played at TIFF and at the Venice International Film Festival last year, and is now getting ready for a theatrical release.
NIGHT MOVES is the story of a group of environmental activists (played by Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning and Peter Sarsgaard), who get in a little over their heads when they begin to execute their latest plan of defiance – blowing up a dam.
The film is a bit of a departure from Reichardt’s previous efforts (the devastating WENDY AND LUCY and the stark MEEK’S CUTOFF) in that it is a thriller, rather than an intentionally-paced, character-driven drama. Though, I could definitely see her deliberate pacing being an asset to this type of story, serving as a tension builder as the plot moves forward.
NIGHT MOVES is scheduled to open May 30th. What do you guys think?
