Hey guys! Horrorella here...
A24 films has released a new trailer for LOCKE, a thriller starring Tom Hardy as a man whose entire world falls to pieces through a series of phone calls he takes while driving in his car.
Ivan Locke (Hardy) has worked diligently to craft the life he has envisioned, dedicating himself to the job that he loves and the family he adores. On the eve of the biggest challenge of his career, Ivan receives a phone call that sets in motion a series of events that will unravel his family, job, and soul. All taking place over the course of one absolutely riveting car ride, LOCKE is an exploration of how one decision can lead to the complete collapse of a life.
The film is essentially a one-act play structure, taking place entirely in Locke's car, as he takes numerous phone calls while driving to his destination. While the knee-jerk reaction is that such a concept runs the risk of being boring as hell, early reviews of the film have been strong. And why shouldn't they be? Steven Knight is a strong story-teller, having written EASTERN PROMISES and DIRTY PRETTY THINGS, and Tom Hardy is definitley an actor with the chops to anchor such a story.
