More clips to fear from IN FEAR!

Coming to theaters on March 7st and then soon after to BluRay/DVD/Video On Demand on March 11th is the horror film IN FEAR, which stars Iain De Caestecker (AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D), Alice Englert (BEAUTIFUL CREATURES) and Allen Leech (DOWNTON ABBEY). Directed and written by Jeremy Lovering, IN FEAR is described as;

a tense psychological horror about a young couple's fight to make it through the night. Home invasion but in a car. In real-time. Tom (De Caestecker) and Lucy (Englert) are trapped in a maze of country roads with only their vehicle for protection, terrorized by an unseen tormentor hell-bent on exploiting their worst fears. Driving, lost and tormented in the night, primal fears of the dark and the unknown give way to fear that you have let the evil in, or that it is already there.

Check out the trailer for IN FEAR below!

And here are two new clips from the film!

Bloody Cuts whittles their Horror Challenge down to one winner!

Bloody Cuts have chosen a winner to their Bloody Cuts “Who’s There?” Horror Challenge and the top prize goes to Ryan Thompson’s PLAY TIME. Thompson’s short bowled over the judging panel which included Joe Dante, Soska Sisters and Gale Anne Hurd. Congrats to Ryan Thompson and you can check out his winning short below!

New THE DREAMLANDS Teaser is full of Lovecrafty Goodness!

THE DREAMLANDS is the first feature-length film adaptation of Howard P. Lovecraft's "dream cycle" and looks to be a very expansive project. The filmmakers Huan Vu and Jan Roth are setting up a kickstarter to help fund the project on March 11th. The filmmakers previously did DIE FARBE an adaptation of Lovecraft’s THE COLOUR OUT OF SPACE which I reviewed here and loved a whole helluvalot.

Find out more about THE DREAMLANDS here! Here’s the third clip from THE DREAMLANDS below entitled “Into the Abyss”.

The makers of THE RAVEN short to make a scifi TELL-TALE HEART!

Filmmakers Don Thiel III and Nicholas Camp have put together an Indiegogo campaign that will support ORBIT - a science fiction reimagining of Edgar Allan Poe’s THE TELL-TALE HEART. THE TELL-TALE HEART as always been one of my favorites and a scifi take is definitely something I’d love to see. Support this campaign if you feel the same. Here’s the pitch video!

And just for shits, here’s THE RAVEN by Don Thiel and Chris Saphire!

Give PROJECT: MEGAFOOT a hand, will ya?

While you’re in the giving mood, the fine folks behind PROJECT: MEGAFOOT are asking for some help to complete their film and have started an IndieGoGo campaign to do it.

Here’s the synopsis;

A lab creates the ultimate warrior using enhanced chemical and engineering technology. When it was declared that the end product would be used exclusively in conjunction with the U.S. military, Colonel Hankle and his team immediately took control. A research facility in the backwoods of the American Mid-West was built, and a top-notch group of scientists was dispatched – along with some healthy, willing volunteers – to commence the operation. Alas, the human subjects proved to be incompatible with the procedure. All seemed lost… and then we made the most incredible discovery. A new type of creature. GIGANTANTHROPUS CRYPTICUS, more commonly known as a Sasquatch, or Bigfoot. We thought it was a mere myth, a projection of Man’s fantastical imagination, but we were wrong. They exist. Just the confirmation that these beasts inhabit this world would alone shake the foundation of Science across the globe. But we could not pass up this amazing opportunity: fate, it seemed, was smiling upon us. Our endeavors would not be wasted. These hairy mammals proved to be a far more accurate match to our program than mere humans. By combining a unique combination of Nature and Cybernetics, we will produce the most dangerous being on the planet. The quest to create the ultimate warrior shall continue. Project: MEGAFOOT!

This one had me at hello. I can’t wait to see this one and if you can’t either, support PROJECT: MEGAFOOT!

Here’s the pitch video!

Be careful what you wish for with this JINN!

Hitting theaters across the country on April 4, 2014 via Freestyle Releasing is JINN from director Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad and starring Serinda Swan, Ray Park, Dominic Rains, and Faran Tahir. The film is described as;

Shawn (Rains), an automotive designer, enjoys an idyllic life with his new wife Jasmine (Swan) until it is interrupted a cryptic message. The message warns of imminent danger and a curse that has afflicted his family for generations. Unable to explain strange events and threats, and fearing for his life, Shawn turns to Gabriel (Park) and Father Westhoff (Atherton), a mysterious duo claiming to have answers. Does this new DEMOLISHER poster rock your world?

Set to begin filming this Spring, THE DEMOLISHER is directed by Gabriel Carrer (who kicked all sorts of ass with his last film IN THE HOUSE OF FLIES – reviewed here) and stars Ry Barrett, who most recently played lead villain in Chad Archibald’s upcoming, THE DROWNSMAN; Tianna Nori, leading danger in Tricia Lee’s, CLEAN BREAK, and Jessica Vano, the tortured heroine in the upcoming, THE UNABOMBER MANIFESTO.

Here’s the official synopsis;

The Demolisher chronicles the story of a man named Bruce (Ry Barrett), an ordinary repairman tormented by a crippling sense of responsibility for his disabled wife Samantha (Tianna Nori), a former policewoman and survivor of a gang-related assault. Bruce’s increasing hyper-sensitivity to the injustice suffered by his wife steers him down a dark path of vigilantism. His rapidly disintegrating mental health, paranoia and overwhelming sense of condemnation, Bruce channels his inner-rage, punishing young woman, Marie (Jessica Vano), and finding refuge in a world of intense violence.

New “fighty” clip from CURSE OF THE DRAGON SLAYER!

Coming soon from Phase 4 Films is CURSE OF THE DRAGON SLAYER. Though it seems to have no ties to Matthew Robbins’ 1981 classic DRAGONSLAYER, the trailer indicates some promise with some competent effects and some cool steampunk meets Medieval Times action. The film will be released on DVD, VOD, & Digital Download in May 2014. Here’s the official synopsis;

Keltus, a knight of the ruling Order is on the trail of the Shadow Cabal -- a group of Orc cultists. When his leads run cold, he must team up with an elf bounty hunter, Nemyt, and an infamous orc raider, Kullimon, to infiltrate the Shadow and try to thwart their evil purpose -- to unleash the God of the Undead.

Here’s a special clip from the film entitled THE FIGHT!

And the very HAWK THE SLAYER-y trailer.
