Syfy’s North American version of “Being Human” will close up shop a season earlier than its U.K. cousin.
Six new episodes remain to air, and its Apr. 7 4th-season finale will be its last.
While the original 2009-2013 British version of the series ran five seasons, its shorter seasons resulted in only 36 episodes. The remake, thanks to longer seasons, will total 52 episodes.
“Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work,” Syfy said in a statement. “They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.”
Though the Boston-based “Being Human” – which deals with vampires, werewolves and ghosts – airs on Syfy in the U.S., it’s actually shot in Montreal and airs also on Canada’s Space channel.
