The Walking Dead 4.9 FAQ

What’s it called?
“After.”

Who’s responsible?
Teleplay is credited to Robert Kirkman, who writes the “Walking Dead” comic books.

What says AMC?
“As Rick deals with old wounds, members of the prison have to come to terms with their new environment and ask themselves if survival alone is enough.”

Does anyone realize that what the Governor said is true: that the prison fence can be fixed?
Not this week.

Did Daryl ever learn that Rick exiled Carol?
My memory tells me Rick was interrupted before Daryl got the news.

Does Carol return this week?
She does not.

Do we learn more definitively the fate of baby Judith?
Not this week.

How does it start?
Michonne watches as zombies crowd around the smoldering tank.

The big news?
The names of Melissa McBride, Scott Wilson and David Morrissey are all still in the title sequence (at least in the title sequence of the screener made available to press).

Do any of them appear this week?
The only familiar characters we see this week are Rick, Carl and Michonne.

What else is AMC not telling us?
This episode is better than any other sporting Kirkman’s name on the teleplay. And I think Chandler Riggs is getting better at playing Carl.

What’s good?
The fabulous (and copious) dismemberments. The surprising glimpse we gain into Michonne’s inner life. The object she finds in the grass. The glare Carl gives Rick’s track record. The exciting mid-episode crisis. The book in the doorjam. The doppleganger. “Carl.”

What’s not so good?
Carl continues to make poor choices and spends perhaps too much time this week stating the obvious.

How does it end, spoiler boy?
“It’s for you.”

9 p.m. Sunday. AMC.
