LAST WEEK, we got a teasing glimpse of what the title characters would look like from the upcoming Michael Bay produced, Jonathan Liebesman directed NINJA TURTLES movie - via promo art for an upcoming Halloween costume.
At that time, I strongly cautioned against judging a character/creature design from a movie on shoddily produced Halloween costumes - although, admittedly, the excretory of the garb on display made keeping an open mind a difficult proposition at best.
CBM now has some leaked images from the production of the film, which apparently reveal the Turtles with considerably more accuracy and much more detail - and these go a long way towards dispelling the kick-in-the-nuts lameness evidenced by that aforementioned Halloween costume. Although, the question still stands: unless it was an utter and complete hoax, some of the dodgier elements of that costume should still be in play, theoretically, right? Like…the sunglasses?

These...look like Bay/Liebesman designs - and are pretty damn cool by my measure. These are also in keeping with very early rumors suggesting the new Turtles were ‘built like linebackers,’ and that William Fichtner's Shredder had 'blades everywhere.'
