The Poster For COOTIES!

Nordling here.

This will be yet another post where I regret not attending the Sundance Film Festival, so I'll save the bitching for someplace else.  But Elijah Wood's production company, SpectreVision, has a couple logs on the fire this year - A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, and then there's COOTIES, a horror comedy written by Leigh Whannell (writer of SAW) and Ian Brennan (co-creator of GLEE).

You wouldn't imagine SAW and GLEE coming together in any way, shape, or form, but they have, and the result is COOTIES, where a virus infects the children, turning them into ravenous, bloodhungry beasts.  Basically, imagine a child in the Toys aisle at Target, 24/7, with a taste for human flesh.  The teachers trapped in the elementary school, played by Elijah Wood, Rainn Wilson, Alison Pill, Jack McBrayer, Jorge Garcia, and others, must band together to survive.  Will we see some adult-on-kid violence?  You can probably bet on that.

COOTIES looks like a lot of fun, and the poster by Jay Shaw is clever too.  I hope we get to see COOTIES play at SXSW this year; considering Elijah Wood's a longtime friend of Austin, that's probably a safe bet.  Here's the poster:

Nordling, out.
