Ben Wheatley's latest film generated quite a bit of buzz when it played the festival circuit last year. Set in 1648, A FIELD IN ENGLAND is the story of a group of soldiers who are led into a field by an alchemist and proceed to go mad.
Equal parts bizarre, psychedelic and utterly surreal, the trailer already has me hooked. This looks to be a fascinating piece of cinema that I can't wait to get my hands on. I enjoyed both KILL LIST and SIGHTSEERS, but one of the interesting things about Wheatley is how different his films are from one another. He's not afraid to take on a new idea and to tell it his own way, and I am excited to see what he will be bringing to the table this time.
