Hey guys! Horrorella here...
Bloody Disgusting posted a trailer for KITE, a live-action film based on the 1998 anime of the same name.
The story follows Sawa (India Eisley), and orphan girl who sets out to avenge the murder of her parents, with the help of her late father's partner (Samuel L. Jackson).
The original anime was known for its rather brutal and graphic depiction of violence and rape, and while it seems likely that this live action version won't go as far, it is definitely setting itself up to be a rather stylized action film. It was directed by Ralph Ziman, who took over after David R. Ellis passed away last year.
No U.S. release date has been set, but we will likely see this one later this year. In the meantime, check out the video below. Samuel L. Jackson introduces the trailer, which is followed by a series of clips. It really gives a good taste of what's in store with this film.
What do you guys think?
