A couple of months ago, we learned that Bruce Willis had signed on to an action/thriller entitled THE PRINCE. THR has news of the newest additions to the cast. Jason Patric, John Cusack, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Johnathon Schaech, Gia Mantegna and South Korean actor-singer Rain will all be taking on roles in the film.
The story revolves around a former mob enforcer (Patric) who is forced to return to Las Vegas and face his past when his teenage daughter goes missing. Willis will play the film's villain - a man named Omar who has a score to settle with Patric's character. Cusack will play Patric's friend, a former mob associate who has gone straight, and Schaech's role is a drug dealer called "The Pharmacist."
The film was originally said to be directed by Sarik Andreasyan (the upcoming AMERICAN HEIST), but now it looks like Brian A. Miller (THE OUTSIDER) has taken over. The script is being written by Jeremy Passmore (the RED DAWN remake) and Andre Fabrizio. Filming is expected to begin next week.
We don't often get to see Bruce Willis playing a villain, so that makes this interesting, in and of itself. Whether or not the story has legs to stand on remains to be seen, but with Jason Patric and John Cusack on board as well, it has the potential to be interesting.
