HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET Director Mark Tonderai to Helm DAY OF THE DEAD Remake!

Hey guys! Horrorella here...

Looks like the DAY OF THE DEAD remake is moving forward. Deadline reports that Millennium Films has selected Mark Tonderai (HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET) to helm the film.  George Romero's original film focused on a group of scientists and military personnel in an underground bunker during the height of the zombie apocalypse. The new version is being scripted by Tonderai, along with Lars Jacobson.

In this new version, years after the zombie plague has wiped out most of Earth’s population, a group of scientists and survivors attempt to find a cure, and instead open Pandora’s box.

I've stated before that I'm not 100% on board with this remake, but I am interested in seeing Tonderai behind the camera of more projects. I watched HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET for the first time last month, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Not a perfect film, but much more interesting than I expected it to be, based on the trailers. Hopefully, he'll be able to take this one in a good direction. Or at least, in a better direction than the 2008 remake.

What do you guys think?
