A new trailer has been released for VAMPIRE ACADEMY, a film based on the book series by Richelle Mead. This trailer does more to sell the plot of the film, rather than just offering a mish-mash of vampy action that doesn't tell you much about the story. Directed by Mark Waters (MEAN GIRLS), the film centers on best friends Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch) and Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry), who attend a secluded boarding school. Lissa is member of vampire royalty, and Rose is her best friend and protector-in-training.
The plot may be kind of iffy, but based on the footage here, it sounds like it is supported by a decently strong script and clever dialogue by Daniel Waters (HEATHERS), which could give the experience extra points.
VAMPIRE ACADEMY opens on February 14th.
