Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here. I just wanted to share two items that caught my eye in this morning's mailing from Sean Jordan over at ZENtertainment.com. I'd like to make special mention of Sean and his appearance at the Saturday morning webmaster's panel at the San Diego ComiCon. This guy was on a pretty serious caffeine rush. I've met Sean once or twice at screenings over the years, and he always puts together a great newsletter. Nice to see him again. Here's the stuff, quoted directly. You should check out the site where it originated.
"GO INSIDE THE STUDIO WITH U2
"U2 have launched a pair of webcams broadcasting the recording of their new album at their official site, as the first new feature in a series of items illuminating the past, present, and future of the band.
"Commenting on the album at the site, Bono has said 'It's not plastic. It's not silk. It's heavier than that. It's titanium soul. But it's like a BEATLES record in that every song feels like a single... The new stuff has fire and it has spunk. It's ecstatic music.'
Steve Lillywhite and Brian Eno & Daniel Lanois are producing the album, which will likely include such new tracks as 'Home,' 'Stuck In A Moment (Which You Can't Get Out Of),' 'Elevation,' and the first single, 'Beautiful Day.'"
"Moriarty" again. Damn... I don't know about you, but I think U2 is one of the great bands, period, and they've reinvented themselves so many times that I'm always willing to believe they're about to do it again. I'll be checking out their official site often as it gets underway, and I can't wait to hear the album.
"'BUFFY' ON DVD IN JANUARY, 'SIMPSONS' IN FEBRUARY
"The DIGITAL BITS website reports FOX Home Video will release the first season of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER on DVD in January, and follow it with the first season of THE SIMPSONS in February. Both should be loaded with features, a la the X-FILES DVD box sets FOX is releasing every six months or so.
The site also reports FOX is considering future full-season DVD releases for MILLENNIUM, HARSH REALM, OUTER LIMITS, and M.A.S.H."
