Hey guys! Horrorella here...
U.S. audiences have eagerly been awaiting the arrival of the latest (and final) film from acclaimed director Hayao Miyazaki. His final film before retirement is THE WIND RISES, which tells the story of engineer Jiro Horikoshi, who developed the Mitsubishi A6M Zero during World War II.
The film generated a fair amount of controversy (as well as a ton of praise) when it opened in Japan earlier this summer. Deadline has released the first domestic trailer. This trailer serves to simultaneously promote the film, as well as celebrate the career and legacy of the master who made it. It's equal parts fanfare for the arrival of a new Miyazaki flick, and for the farewell to one of animation and film's undisputed champions.
Check it out below. Fortunately, we don't have too much longer to wait - THE WIND RISES will open in limited release on February 21st, and will expand wider a week later.
