Buckle up for 19 more televised hours set in the Marvel movie universe that serves as home to Tony Stark, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, Nick Fury and Thor.
After just three airings, ABC has expanded its order for Joss Whedon’s “Agents of SHIELD” to a full season.
This is no surprise. Three weeks in, “SHIELD” is still the most popular new fall show on any channel. It’s ABC’s second-most-popular hourlong of any age (behind only Shonda Rimes’ Thursday blockbuster “Scandal”) and easily the network’s most popular new show.
Prior series created by Whedon include “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” “Angel,” “Firefly” and “Dollhouse.” Fox’s “Firefly” remains the only Whedon show cancelled before completion of its first season.
