This rumor has been floating around for a while but seems to have gained some ground as our friends at Latino-Review are reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reuniting with James Cameron to play a villain in at least AVATAR 2. I say at least because last month we learned that James Cameron is going to direct three sequels consecutively. The report doesn’t state how many films Schwarzenegger is going to sign up for but I would be shocked if it was only one.
Schwarzenegger’s career hasn’t taken off since his term as California Governor came to an end, but reuniting with Cameron in sequels to the highest grossing film of all time seems like a great career move for him. Especially playing a villain for Cameron, which is what he did when both of their careers took off with 1984’s THE TERMINATOR. Schwarzenegger and Cameron went on to make box office magic with T2 and TRUE LIES and obviously a sequel to AVATAR should be no different. I just hope this rumor comes to fruition and we get to see Schwarzenegger in a mo-cap suit.
