Don't give the Behind the Scenes Pic of the Day the pleasure of a contest. Lower your guard. I'll kill you on the first rush.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with today’s Behind the Scenes Pic!

Got a good one for you today. This picture illustrates the importance of a director's eye, believe it or not. It also shows the great illusion that is movie making.

What we've got is Stanley Kubrick filming a scene from 1960's Spartacus in Los Angeles, a stone's throw away from the then modern day hustle and bustle as cars zip through Cahuenga Pass. I love that folks were just running their 1959 errands not realizing film history was being made just up the hill.

Anyway, thanks a ton to Decaying Hollywood Mansions for the image. Enjoy!

If you have a behind the scenes shot you’d like to submit to this column, you can email me at quint@aintitcool.com.

Tomorrow’s behind the scenes pic can be found somewhere between 41st Street and 43rd Street!
