Hey Yo, Draven here.
Ti West is one of the most exciting voices we have in modern horror. THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and THE INNKEEPERS were both fantastic, atmospheric horror flicks so there was a lot of buzz surrounding his newest film, THE SACRAMENT. It debuted at the Toronto Internation Film Festival and got some pretty good reviews. It is a found footage film (I know, I am sick of them too but this sounds good) that follows a group of people who document their attempts to find a woman in a cult that is preparing for a mass suicide.
Deadline was the first to report that Magnolia had acquired the rights to the film and West confirmed it on his Twitter page with this:
Thrilled to be working with @MagnoliaPics / @MagnetReleasing again on #TheSacrament WE RIDE TOGETHER, WE DIE TOGETHER.

This is cool news because Magnolia puts all of their films on demand before even releasing them theatrically. So this means that the losers like me in small markets will still be able to see the film as soon as everybody else. I can’t wait.
