An international trailer has appeared for the upcoming biopic MANDELA: LONG WALK TO FREEDOM. The film is based on Nelson Mandela's own autobiography, and stars Idris Elba in the titular role.
The first trailer released showed more footage of young Mandela and the early days of the revolution. This trailer shows quite a bit of new footage and focuses more on Mandela's time spent in prison and the fight to free him, as well as more on the role that his wife (Naomie Harris) played in the events. Overall, the film looks to provide a very encompassing view of his life and the events that he helped shape.
The film was well-received at TIFF, and based on the trailer footage alone, Elbra's performance will definitely be one to watch for. The film is set to open in limited release on November 29th.
