VERONICA MARS/PARTY DOWN/CUPID Mastermind Rob Thomas Ramping Up Contemporary Hourlong LES MISERABLES Homage For Fox!!

I am – Hercules!!

Rob Thomas, who created and oversaw UPN’s “Veronica Mars,” Starz’ “Party Down” and both versions of ABC’s “Cupid,” is now developing for Fox a contemporary dramedy loosely based on Victor Hugo’s novel “Les Miserables.”

Thomas is not scripting. Graham Norris, the actor who played Timid Waiter Dereck in three episodes of “Gilmore Girls” and The Fan in the “Stage Fright” episode of “Dollhouse,” wrote the pilot.

It’s about a successful defense attorney who finds himself hiding -- from a ruthless government attorney -- the unjust conviction of his secret past.

“Miserables” also served as the inspiration for the 1960s David Janssen series “The Fugitive” and a secondary inspiration for the 1970s Bill Bixby series “The Incredible Hulk.”
