Tonight’s penultimate “Writers’ Room,” with “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, is the most compelling I’ve seen yet.
Expect lots of hints as to why the original “Thrones” pilot, directed by “Station Agent” helmer Thomas McCarthy (and starring different a different Dany and a different Catelyn) was scrapped.
We only began watching “Game of Thrones” 28 months ago. But did you realize that George RR Martin, who is 64 now, began writing “Game of Thrones” when he was 42?
And did you know Benioff, Weiss and Martin, years before any of them met, were all Dungeons and Dragons dungeonmasters?
And that Weiss managed to read 950 pages of “A Song Of Ice And Fire” in two and a half days?

This week Chester’s Mill is already so starved for entertainment Natalie Zea’s Max is organizing bloody gladiatorial combat. Would this be necessary if Phil Bushey were a better radio programmer? Or if the Army would just erect a 65” plasma right outside the dome and switch the closed-captioning on?

Truly, the geeks have inherited the earth. “Under The Dome” beat a (preseason) “Monday Night Football” game last week.
Nobody watches the new Sunday episodes of “American Ninja Warrior” on G4, but the series performs strongly for NBC Monday nights.
