Any day you get new info on a Coen Brothers project is a damn good day indeed. Today, we have a new trailer from their upcoming film INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, and I am jumping up and down with excitement and unbridled joy. They are among my favorite filmmakers and have proven themselves time and time again to be the undisputed masters of crafting these strange, yet fascinating characters that you can't help but be drawn to, and this latest film looks to be no exception.
The film follows musician Llewyn Davis (Oscar Issac) as he struggles to navigate the folk scene in Greenwich Village in the 1961. In true Coen fashion, it looks like all sorts of horrible fates befall him over the course of a few days.
Check out the new trailer below. It gives more details into Davis's particular circumstances, and includes an absolutely brilliant moment from John Goodman's character.
There is so much to love here, and it's only a two-and-a-half-minute trailer - the dry humor, the casting, the intriguing characters, John Goodman's hair, Marcus Mumford's cover of "Fare Thee Well"... this is one my most anticipated films of the year.
INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS co-stars John Goodman, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake and Garrett Hedlund. It opens in limited release on December 6th, and wide on December 20th.
