We have a new trailer for the upcoming film from Wong Kar-Wei (IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE), THE GRANDMASTER. Starring Tony Leung and Zhang Ziyi, as well as fight choreography from Yuen Woo-Ping, the film will tell the legendary story of martial arts master Ip Man.
While earlier trailers have sold the film more on the basis of the story and the amazing visual style, this one is going for the straight-up ass-kicking approach.
It really doesn't matter how many ways they try to sell this film - I am psyched to see it. It looks incredible, it's telling a legendary story, and it's got some amazing talent behind it.
THE GRANDMASTER will open in limited release on August 23rd, and will expand wide on August 30th.
