* Aaryn, aligned with Andy, Amanda and McCrae in the “3AM” alliance, nominated house moms Helen and Elissa for eviction.
* Elissa won the OTEV Power of Veto and will take herself off the block.
* I’m guessing Aaryn will replace Elissa with Spencer.
* Helen now seems certain to hug Julie Chen this Thursday. This saddens me; she's my favorite player and perhaps the biggest BB fan in the house this season.
Last week’s “Newsroom” was emblematic of how dramatically Aaron Sorkin’s first HBO series is improving. All the stuff with Sloan and Don. Charlie’s chat with the secret government guy. The sad details of Maggie’s rootless personal life. McKenzie’s chats with the gay kid. “Baba Booey, Motherfucker!”
This is the Sorkin we love, the guy who wrote “The Social Network” and “Moneyball.”

Fox’s “Teen Choice Awards” didn’t pull even the same numbers repeats of “Bob’s Burgers” usually pull in the same slot.
And “Big Brother” again scored a rare (but increasingly frequent) victory over “True Blood.”
