Here's an extended clip for you from the upcoming THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES (or, has my husband has been calling it, "Constantween").
CITY OF BONES is the first in a line of best-selling YA novels (more of which will be adapted, should this one do well, I imagine). It follows teenager Clary Fray (Lily Collins) as she discovers that she is is descended from the Shadowhunters - a long line of half-angel warriors tasked with battling evil and protecting the mortal world from demons. I haven't read the books, but the throngs of screaming teenage girls at the beginning of the clip tell me it's a pretty popular series.
In this new clip (originally shown at Comic-Con, now available for the world the see, thanks to Yahoo!), we see Lena Headey (playing Clary's mother) kicking some serious demon ass. We also see some footage of Clary trying to get the bottom of who she is and what she has been experiencing. There is also a vicious dog that turns into a slimy tentacle monster. Not bad, for a Tuesday afternoon.
The film co-stars Jamie Campbell Bower, Jared Harris, Kevin Zegers, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Aidan Turner and CCH Pounder.
