Last month, we saw the first teaser trailer for Oliver Hirschbiegel‘s upcoming biopic, DIANA. Today, we have the first full-length international trailer for the film.
Naomi Watts stars in the titular role as the People's Princess, and the film will chronicle the final two years of Princess Diana's life and her relationship with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Kahn (Naveen Andrews).
While the teaser didn't give a lot away plot-wise, this one expands a bit more into the approach the film seems to be taking - the life of a beloved public figure behind closed doors and the effect that such a public life can have on the personal one.
It seems pretty standard, but no doubt Watts's performance as the late Princess will be one to watch for this year. The film is being directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (DOWNFALL), from a script written by Steven Jeffreys (THE LIBERTINE).
DIANA is set to open in the U.K. on September 20th, and across Europe throughout October. No U.S. release date has been announced.
