The Wrap is reporting that James Cameron has hired Josh Friedman (TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, the 2005 version of WAR OF THE WORLDS) to work on the AVATAR 2 script.
I liked both THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and WAR OF THE WORLDS so this is good news to me. I don’t know how much influence Friedman is going to have on story or characters but Cameron must have really liked what he saw in Friedman’s ability to expand on Cameron’s TERMINATOR universe. We can only hope Friedman has those same results with Cameron’s AVATAR universe.
AVATAR 2 is on pace to be released in December of 2015, although no date has been locked down yet.
