Deadline is reporting that James McAvoy is close to signing on to star as Victor Von Frankenstein in Fox’s upcoming retelling of the Frankenstein story. We already knew that Daniel Radcliffe was going to be front and center as Igor, in the Max Landis-scripted (CHRONICLE), Paul McGuigan-directed (PUSH) film.
I like McAvoy a lot as an actor and the chemistry between Radcliffe and him should be there. Ultimately though, this film’s biggest challenge will be proving that there is a good reason for it to exist. Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein has been adapted a countless number of times over the years, but I would expect there to be a twist in this planned adaptation. Hopefully we will get more details soon.
