Hot Toys showed off some of its upcoming releases along with unveiling new sixth scale figures at San Diego Comic-Con. A few of the highlights include 1966 versions of Batman and Robin, Johnny Depp as Tonto from The Lone Ranger, The Mandarin from Iron Man 3, the Scar Predator, Henry Cavil as the Man of Steel, members of The Avengers, The Rock as Roadblock from G.I. IRON MAN 3: HEARTBREAKER FROM HOT TOYS

Inside one of the Hot Toys cases at SDCC you'll notice this guy. Tony Stark has so many Iron Man suits, coming up with names for them all can probably be a real pain. Perhaps he was listening to some Pat Benatar while he constructed this one? The new 1/6 scale Mark XVII features LED light-up functions on the eyes and chest, 36 points of articulation, three pairs of interchangeable hands and a figure stand. It will release in the first quarter of 2014 or you can preorder it here.  

 

 

 

QUARTER SCALE BATTLE DAMAGED IRON MAN FROM NECA

battle damaged tony stark NECA sold out of its first 1/4 scale Iron Man figure, so they decided to do a follow-up. The third offering in the Marvel Avengers line includes a brand new head sculpt featuring the likeness of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. This figure also includes newly damaged armor plates and with paint job that shows the weathering detail from the battle for New York City. Stark stands approximately 18-inches tall and features over 25 points of articulation and LED lights on the chest and palms. He’ll start shipping in September.

A year ago, Sideshow Collectibles showed off a new prototype for its 1/6 scale version of The Baroness at San Diego Comic-Con. Today, the company has officially announced when she will go on sale. Destro’s main squeeze will feature a fully articulated female body, body armor, a tailored body suit, high-heeled boots, an assault rifle, knife, sub-machine pistol, holsters, multiple interchangeable hands and a Sideshow exclusive additional head with alternate hair style and glasses. This vixen will begin to ship in January or you can preorder her here.

Matty posted several pics from its San Diego Comic-Con booth. Here’s a quick look at some of the MOTUC figures on display. Expect more information about the Sky-High and Jet Sled™ set, the final MOTUC weapons pack, and the fan requested Geldor, along with Matty’s other action figure lines after their Friday SDCC press conference.

If you swing by the DC Entertainment booth at San Diego Comic-Con, you’ll notice some new action figures on display. The TV version of Arrow and Deathstroke will get paired up in a new two-pack. Also some villainous members of the Suicide Squad will reunite in a three figure set. Then comic artist Greg Capullo will get his own wave of designer figures featuring Batman, Nightwing and Talon. No word on a release date for these action figures.

Zod’s right hand lady and Superman’s birth dad will soon get their very own Play Arts Kai figures. These 9.5-inch action figures from Man of Steel feature multiple points of articulation, and interchangeable hands. Faora will also come with a knife while Jor-El will have detachable back armor and a Kryptonian gun. These will reach Earth in December or you can preoder Faora here and Jor-El here.  

 

 

 

NEW MARVEL MINIMATE SETS FROM DIAMOND SELECT TOYS

It’s evil bad guy zombies versus the latest version of the Thunderbolts. Art Asylum and Diamond Select will release two new Minimate sets featuring some new versions of Marvel characters. First we have a four-pack of zombie villains featuring Magneto, Galactus, Red Skull and the Green Goblin. That will release in January or you can preorder it here. Then there’s the Marvel Now Thunderbolts four pack with Punisher, Deadpool, Elektra, and a Red Hulk that can transform into General Ross. That will also release in January or you can preorder the set here.  

 

 

 

50TH ANNIVERSARY DOCTOR WHO MINIFIGS

50th Anniversary Doctor Who Character Builders from Underground Toys

Who is your favorite Doctor? If you are a fan of classic Who, you may want to check out the next wave in Underground Toys’ blind-packed minifigs. The new set features all 11 Doctors, each individually sealed in a mysterious bag, so you never know who you’re going to get. Each minifig comes with a display base while select figures will also come packed with a sonic screwdriver. These will hit the states in August or you can preorder them here.  

 

 

AND FINALLY THIS WEEK, Hasbro was nice enough to send us the new Star Wars Black 6-inch San Diego Comic-Con version of Boba Fett with Han in Carbonite. This is the first figure in a new line of toys that features more advanced articulation, sculpting and paint applications than Hasbro's current Star Wars product line. The company will sell the left over Boba Fetts from the convention on its website HasbroToyShop.com after the big show for $44.99.
