The Times say Steve Buscemi is in talks for TERMINATOR 3
Hey folks, Harry here. Saturday I got this in. I've been checking out the website for The-Times.Co.Uk with no luck finding this alleged article. However, I saw that Garth over at Dark Horizons has posted the rumor. So I figured you folks would like a look see. If ANYONE can find the alleged (has to be called that because until we find that story, then this could be total bullshit... of course once it's found it could still be bullshit, but at least then it'd be tabloid bullshit, which has a different air about it) story at the TIMES' website... drop me a line or post the link in talk back below... Thanks...
Hi, I would just like to say that according to The Times newspaper, Steve
Buscemi has been approached for a part in Terminator 3. The Times is a
British newspaper, and they usually only put these things in it if there is
some truth behind it. The article was small and said "Steve Buscemi is an
actor that has appeared in many films, but has never took the leading role.
He has been approached for one of the lead characters in Terminator 3 where
he will work beside Arnold Scwarzenegger. Buscemi is said to have agreed
only if Scwarzenegger is starring in the movie."
Sounds like T3 might be quite good, if they go ahead and make it with James
Cameron.

What a matchup. But who will play the bad terminator, or is Buscemi going to play John Conners?
-
Steve Buscemy is OK but what about Michael Biehn? He had been edited out of T2, maybe they could bring him back in T3? The guy deserves that!
-
Steve Buscemi as John Connor? Could work......
-
It could work. It would be realistic. I mean after the human race has been enslaved do you wthink you will find somone as althletic as Bruce Willis. The only problem I would have is beleiving someone would follow Buscemi into war. Into a brothel maybe!
-
If I remember correctly, there are already scenes with the grown-up John Connor in one of the first two movies, so it would be a bit weird if Buscemi would play Connor in T3...
-
GAWD you guys are LAME! What a bunch of whinning d-bags, I thought this was supposed to be about movies and fun and fanboy sh**! But this is RIDICULOUS, by the way Steve will be playing a scientist/inventor type who helps the characters. At least thats what methinks!
-
you know, that article would have been revealing...if it wasn't three weeks old, you dumb arse.
-
I love Buscemi, and I think he could add a great comedic touch to T3, as long as it was subtle. The last thing I want the franchise to become is the adventures of a cyborg and his goofball sidekick. Or maybe we'll see a side of Buscemi we haven't seen before? Well assuming this rumor pans out, of course...but the big question mark remains: will Cameron participate or not? I don't know what caused Arnold to change his mind on that fact, but a Terminator film without Cameron...sheesh, I really can't get too excited, even with Arnold involved. If the film is Cameron-free, there had better be a killer script true to the characters and franchise coupled with an incredible marketing campaign. I look forward to this one with more than a dollop of trepidation...McFly<--

Firstly Hary's_a_Hack, read the article you posted, then I went to the web site and read their first article. Conclusion... Film Threat are jealous as fuck of Harry's success. I dig AICN, it's fun, it's for fans. I check it out daily and have a lot of laughs here. At the end of the article there is a link to check out the feed back they got on it. FOUR FUCKIN' MAILS. FOUR!!! So either nobody reads their site, or they only had four people bad mouth the big guy! Anywho, I'll stick with what I know and just say...keep it up Harry. Secondly Steve Buscemi is a great actor who adds something special to every film he is in, so this is pretty cool. And to the talkbacker who is worried about him in an action flick... he held his own admirably in "Con Air" and "Armageddon"!

Wasn't Buscemi suppose to star as William Burroughs in the movie
by houdini25
Three years ago James Granhoulz, Burrough's manager, emailed me after I was talking about this on a Beat Generation email forum. I heard that Steve was suppose to go ahead with this project and this was confirmed. Maybe he'll play Burroughs who must stop the Terminator with cut-ups.
-
Hey - Harry's a Hack....get lost. Christ, I can't believe I read all of that post of yours. I reached the end, and was still wondering what, aside from Babyish jealousy had motivated you? Your argument is simply "Harry does this, Harry does that"; you need structured commentary and analysis, not just alarmingly repetitive reproductions of conversations. Get this - Harry IS popular as in 'widely used' - both by the fans and media. He may or may not have weakened his journalistic integrity, but I'll bet most readers don't even consider this. If they did, then this site certainly wouldn't be anywhere near as popular. We all make judgement calls. Yeah, policing is necessary, but not by rambling, whiny, tossers with a persecution complex, such as you.
-
Oh and the revamped Singin in the Rain is even funnier than the Gladiator/Tiger one.
-
Criticism is one thing, cutting and pasting articles from other sites is verging on (or is actually) pathetic.
-
It would be sooo easy to flame you right now, to tell you to shut the fuck up and get off the site if you don't like it. It would be even easier to point out that you probably an employee at Film Threat, if not the actual author of the article that you keep cutting and pasting on these boards, making what you're doing almost akin to industrial sabotage. But I thought that instead I would be calm and rational, qualities which you seem to sorely lack. So I read your article, considered your claims, and came to one conclusion. Film Threat is jealous. Extremely, extremely jealous. The entire "expose" reeked of pretension, hypocrisy and jealously. You gleefully point out several well-documented mistakes that Harry has made, then, in the interest of "journalistic integrity", you print a few of Film Threat's mistakes. The difference, you claim, is that Film Threat has LEARNED from its mistakes. What? How the hell can you prove this? I haven't seen Harry deluging us with list after list of "confirmed" Oscar nominees for next year. Hey, maybe he's learned from his mistake, too! Next you complain that Harry is unable to detach his journalistic endeavors from his personal life. This is exactly the reason why is site is so popular! It is the personal touches which separate AICN from the other boring, pretentious and dry film sites on the internet (with Film Threat topping that list, sad to say). And as far as journalistic integrity goes, what the hell do you call your article? It sure as hell looks like a smear campaign to me. You can say what you want about the accuracies of some of Harry's posted rumors (although that's weak, too; God forbid that the occasional RUMOR be false), but I'll gladly take one or two screw-ups over your disgraceful yellow journalism any day. You breathlessly crow about giving away Moriarty's real name and address as if you were uncovering the murderer of Nicole Simpson, as opposed to merely fucking up the personal life of a fanboy with an overactive imagination. You cannot expect me to treat your article as serious journalism when you gleefully make countless fat jokes about Harry's weight. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and wager that the author of this article PROBABLY isn't Tom Cruise, and taking potshots at somebody for an admitted weight problem is not only hypocritical, it's downright disgusting. So I'm sorry to say, Film Threat, your efforts to destory AICN have only exposed the glaring shortcomings of your own site. Please stop with your annoying posts. Because calm and rational be damned, if I have to scroll through another five-page post, I'm going to hunt you down and personally beat the fuck out of you. I know that might not be journalistically sound, but hey, we can't all be winners, right Film Threat?
-
I will ignore the bickering about the FilmThreat article (which I disagree 100% with), and comment on this article: I really, really, REALLY doubt a respectably British paper like the Times would print a sentence like, "Steve Buscemi is an actor that has appeared in many films, but has never took the leading role", when it is obviouslly gramatically incorrect.. It *should* read "Steve Buscemi has appeared in many films, but has never taken the leading role."

Steve starred in that awful movie where he brought his grandma back from the dead. It really sucked a nut, but he starred. I haven't seen it in a long time so I can't remember the name. It comes on at 2 a.m. a lot.

Yes I would love to see Steve in it in ANY capacity BUT need I remind everyone that if Jim Cameron doesnt direct it just wont be a ASS KICKIN FILM
Cameron knows the charecters and is the ONLY one in all of Hollywood who could pull off a third film.
I tip my hat to him, Not only did he manage to sneek up behind us and deliver TITANIC (which became a multi BILLION dollar hit!!!!!)
He did it as a LOVE STORY!!!!!!
So he proved he can do much more then just sci-fi geeker stuff.
BUT....
If he dont direct T3
I for one will save my 9 bucks.
I already wont see SPIDEY.
(Come on you KNOW being in the front row of the dark theater watching Spidey swoop down into the city canyons with the camera RIGHT THERE on his belt so you actually get that roller coaster feeling in the pit of your popcorn filled tummy would have been worth TWICE the price of admission) But alas its not to be.
Heard Big C is working on TRUE LIES 2 GOOD!!!!!!!
something to watch while I wait for Bond 20
But I will say it a thrid time and you know deep deep down its true. Love ya Steve, but all of Hollywood could star in this film but if Big C aint directin, it's just a cheap action flick. -
You need to realize this.Harry doesn't owe you shit, he doesn't owe me shit, and he doesn't owe Hollywood shit.He could plaster naked pictures of himself all over this site and you cant do a damn thing about it.You seem very upset because, he's smarter than you, if he did manufacture a poster for a movie in hopes to get it made GOOD FOR HIM!So, he tricked some Hollywood types, whats the use of having a web site viewed by millions if you can't fuck shit up with it.Maybe if you asked real nice Harry would let you suck his dick, thats obviously what you want, either that or for everyone who views his site to say "Omigod, Harry does suck, this guy is much cooler, this guy um..uh..whats his name?"Use your real name if you're so bad if not shut the fuck up....actually just shut the fuck up
-
All that is being done here is that the above named user is cutting and pasting parts of Filmthreat's article and he is also posting some of that sites talk back comments. These opinions don't seem to be his own so do not rise to the bait. However, I would recommend going to Filmthreat's site, read the article and if you feel the need to comment go for it. I am sure if Harry wants to make his opinion known he will do so. And now on to the T3 debate!!!
-
You know what I really hate about this site? Is all the geekboy mutherfuckers like Caledonian who keep using the word gay like it's some sort of insult. I'm not asking you to become some PC moron, just grow some fucking manners. If there's one thing wrong with this site is the rampant anti homosexual sentiment you assholes (who probably still haven't even gotten to first base with a girl yet) love to fling around. Well here's some news for you: Maybe if you could keep away from the comic shops, conventions, and toy stores long enough, and actually try to be a REAL MAN for once then maybe some of you stupid nerds could earn the distinction of being a real SEXIST instead of the pathetic armchair gay hating losers that you really are.
-
Have you seen previews for that MTV show with a guy named The Fish who is the personification of evil? He looks just like Buscemi! I think Steve could do a good job in Terminator 3, as long as he doesn't have to run. Oh, and don't forget to drop us a line at the forum we just opened up at Moviewatchers.com to give us input on what you want to see on our upcoming movie site. Peace.
-
I would think it would be excellent if he walked into a gunsmiths and said "DER OOOOZY NEIN MILLIMEETUH. OH, BETTUH MAKE DAT TWO." Then, to the tune of Monty Python's 'Spam Song'... 1.2.3.4... "Lovahly guns, wondahful guns, lovely guns, wonderful gu-uh-uh-uh-uh-uns, uh-uh uh-uh lovahly guns, lovahly guns, guns guns guns GGGUUUNNS!"
-
Micheal Biehn absolutely MUST be in T3. Kyle Reese is a key character in the series, even though his role sucked ass in T2 (which was edited out). I would be severely(sP?) pissed if he wasn't in it.

The article that says Steve Buschemi has not taken any leading r
by pips orcille
Steve Buscemi has taken a leading role before and it so happens to be in "Trees Lounge", which Buscemi also directed.
-
He was shown briefly on T2. Why would they choose someone new, especially given that Buscemi looks SO different than the actor that potrayed Connor on T2? I know he was a background character and not too many people would remember, but continuity in visuals is a must...
-
Maybe Mr.B will play some ultra secret, hush hush, T-2000 prototype terminator
which is way more deadly than than the t-100 or t-1000. Could be very cool, depending on how interesting and unique the new terminators capabilities are (if any). Super speed (reflexes and eye hand coordination) intangibility,
indepedent time travel capabilities. -
First, I just came here to talk about how damn funny Harry looks getting electricuted. But then I read the story and said to myself, "Cool." Steve Buscemi is one of or is one of the greatest actors around and I'll be damn PISSED if this isn't true. That's all I have to say right now until tomorrow...
-
T-1000: Hey...that's a nice bike--Is it new, sir?
Buscemi: Yessir, officer. It still has that smell.
T-1000: Get out...
Without Cameron, Terminator 3 will seriously blow monkey testicles, but why make another sequel in the first place. While all the little fanboys who adore the movie are all psyched because Arnold (over 50) is gonna put on those glasses once again.
Wasn't the whole purpose of T2 to leave it open (i.e. NO SEQUELS). That's how I saw it. Making another movie, while it would kick some serious ass, would lessen the goodness of the previous movies, like some other sequels that i care not to mention *cough* Episode 1... -
Well, disregarding the flame war, my question is how would it be possible to make a T3 movie? Just thinking aloud here but it would seem that T2 was pretty much an open and shut case.
1. T-1000 comes back in time
2. Arnold comes back as well after being reprogrammed.
3. T-1000 goes after Sarah Connor but fails
4. Arnold is melted with all his knowledge.
5. All information regarding Skynet is destroyed as well.
So, to me, it's highly doubtful, in my mind at least, that any more future with these big robots has been snuffed out.
Unless, we see tricks pulled out a ' la Star Trek where cross dimensional rips, or Connor and her son for some reason give up information about SkyNet. Or worse, someone finds information regarding Skynet (heck who knows where, call it the Internet). Ugh...
Uh oh.. !#%!$#% I'm such a friggin fanboy when it comes to Terminator series. hehehe...
-
By the way, the story on Buscemi in T3 is here:
http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-main.html?2000-06/26/10.30.film
For the next Url, the story is second from the top:
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news-n.htm
To Splat: Notice it DOES use perfect English.
I think that Buscemi would be a scientist, or he could be Travis Gant: the crazy ex beret guy John talked about in T2.
Im pretty sure this story is 100% true.
Oh, and great joke coffee. -
someone mentioned Mike Beihn was in T2 but was cut out. is that what someone said? i don't know, maybe im just not followin' you. my brain hasn't been the same since i was kicked out of Van Halen... i miss Alex... and Eddie... yeah, and even Mikie. (sniff)

6-27-00, BUSCEMI IS NOT IN T3. PROOF IS RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!!!
by anonymous t fan
Quoted from Dark Horizons on 6-26-00: "An AMG rep has confirmed that despite yesterday's report from the British press, Steve Buscemi is NOT going to be a part of "Terminator 3" - damn it. "
RUMORS OF STEVE BUSCEMI IN T3 IS FALSE!!!!. This explains why there was no trace of the article at the "Times" website. I say we BEHEAD CHRIS for telling such an elaborate sweet lie!!!!!!!! I could kinda tell it was false because of the misspelling of Schwarzenegger on the last reference to it in chris's message.
Heres the darkhorizon's story. Scroll down to "Terminator 3 and Babylon 5": http://www.darkhorizons.com/news.htm -
...he's the funny guy in the movie . In T3, I cannot find any comic situation, becoz' the end of the world is in the story .
If Buscemi is a cyborg, it will be rather interesting ...
Is Robert Patrick on this ?
And has anyone heard of Alien5 ?
---------------------------------
will be there all day for replies -
Read in The Daily Record (British newspaper) that Arnie was involved - arnie went on to say that Cammeron would be involved when he reads a script he approves of..... Have not seen this info anywhere else!

Steve Buschemi's character Rockhound said that in Armageddon, and it rings true for any thought that he should be involved in T3, he just is not right for it. No offense, Steve, I'm a big fan.

Who is in T3 besides Arnold. I know they will definitely get Edward Furlong back, but will Linda Hamilton and Robert Patrick return?
Even with Arnold, this movie may suck if James Cameron and the T2 cast doesn't return
