From writing/directing team Robert Ben Garant & Thomas Lennon comes the new horror comedy HELL BABY.
It stars Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb an expecting couple who move into a home in New Orleans. The house is a fixer-upper with a bit of a past (it has been dubbed The House of Blood by the locals), but that doesn't bother the couple - how bad could it be, right? Before long, strange events are occurring, and they come to the only logical conclusion that the house is possessed.
HELL BABY premiered at Sundance to mixed reviews, and from the trailer, it looks like it's not going to be everyone's bag. While Garant and Lennon's more mainstream efforts have been rather watered-down (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, THE PACIFIER), they tend to find more critical success when they are operating outside studio restrictions, as they have done here. If you are a fan of The State and Reno 911, this might be more in your ballpark. Based on the talent involved, it looks like this will offer something different from the tired SCARY/EPIC/DATE/DISASTER movie parodies that have long since worn out their welcome.
HELL BABY will be out on VOD on July 25th, and will see a limited theatrical run starting September 6th. The film costars Rob Huebel, Michael Ian Black, Paul Scheer, Michael Ian Black, Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon.
