So wait, we are going to get a FRIDAY THE 13TH 2!?!?

Hey Yo! Draven here.

Bloody-Disgusting has some exciting news for us FRIDAY THE 13TH fans. They had this to say about a sequel to the 2009 remake:

"Our own Evan Dickson interviewed Derek Mears (Jason Voorhees in the 2009 remake) who stated that “…[Paramount] wants [a new Friday The 13th movie] as fast as possible.” But even more important is that he stated that Platinum Dunes, the production company behind the 2009 remake, is partnering with Paramount for the sequel to Friday The 13th!"

It is kind of weird for a slasher to get a sequel this far down the road. The remake in 2009 was definitely successful financially and most fans seemed to have a good time with it, so I have wondered why it has taken so long for a sequel to be made. I thought the first one was a hell of a lot of fun and absolutely loved the opening 15 minutes. (It was a lot better than their shitpile remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.) I am sure this sequel will be in 3-D and there is a lot of potential if they follow MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D and use the technology to make it a more fun experience. This could also all just be fan service and telling people what they want to hear but I hope not because a world without Jason on the big screen is a world I don't want to live in.
