I think most of us expected this with all of these villains that have been cast so far, but Comic Book Movie is reporting that Colm Feore is playing The Vulture in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Not only that, but he will join up with Rhino, Electro, Green Goblin and probably The Lizard from the first one to form The Sinister Six. This would then set up the third film.
We had known that this was planned to be a trilogy from the beginning, and I heard some theories after the last one came out that they were setting up for The Sinister Six, and that was why they had kept The Lizard alive. Well it seems as though that is going to come to fruition with THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2.
I hope that this won’t be a case of too many villains but the cast they are getting together for these villains is awesome. Paul Giamatti as Rhino, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Chris Cooper as Green Goblin and Colm Feore as The Vulture. Insane, and I don’t think it will be too much as they are using two films to set it up and all of the villains will be united in one goal. I am also hearing really good things from people who are saying that they have learned from the first one. I think this is a big reason why Marc Webb agreed to return. I actually liked the first one but mainly because of the cast, the script definitely needed some work and Sony shouldn’t have chopped it to hell months before release.
