Netflix announces soon-to-be available titles for Instant Watch! Includes MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS!!!

Howdy do, everyone, Papa Vinyard here.

A bunch of June's new additions to Netflix's Instantly Watch service have already gone up, but we have a list of a few more that are coming up over the course of the month. I have only seen SILENT HILL: REVELATION (which I enjoyed, despite the critical thrashing, although not nearly as much as Christophe Gans' original) and (of course) THE AVENGERS, but I've heard good things about Snoop's REINCARNATED, Barry Levinson's THE BAY, and, surprisingly enough, KATY PERRY: PART OF ME. I've never heard of FAMILY WEEKEND; I guess it came out in limited release this past March, and the trailer makes it look like a kooky, upper-class version of that Jamie Lee Curtis/Kevin Pollak classic, HOUSE ARREST. And we all know about the across-the-board critical darling and monster-box-office-smash-megahit movie, MADEA'S WITNESS PROTECTION. Can't wait to re-visit that gem!

How cool is it that, while other companies' contracts with Netflix seem to be expiring as fast as Netflix can announce intriguing original projects, Marvel's stuff seems to consistently get on there, and stay on there, about a year after the theatrical release? I wanted to watch CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER a few weeks back, and was relieved to see that it was still on there after a whole year. It's not like they need that Blu-ray money to break even; nice to see their comfort with getting their product out there without being stingy.
