Our old friend Drew McWeeny (he’ll always be Moriarty to us) at Hitfix, is reporting that John C. Reilly has been offered a role as Rhomann Dey in the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY film, due out next summer. He hasn’t accepted it yet, and nobody is sure that he will as the role is described as, “a big commitment”.
Drew has a lot of really great details in his article and explains exactly what Marvel is looking for with this role. Basically, Rhomann Dey is the go between for the Guardians and S.H.I.E.L.D., and the role seems like it has the potential to turn into something more. I have already stated my excitement for this project and obviously John C. Reilly does nothing to hurt that. This role seems perfect for his abilities and he seems like he will help the movie accomplish the tone they are going to need to make this a big hit, so hopefully Marvel can put this together. I just can’t wait to see how different and cool this movie is going to be.
