So FAST AND FURIOUS 6 is coming this weekend but we already know there will be a FAST AND FURIOUS 7 coming July 2014. We also know who the villain will be and how FAST AND FURIOUS 6 will lead into it.
Now at the L.A. premiere (via Variety) for the new film, Vin Diesel has come out and promised that FAST 7 will return to the series’ L.A. roots. He said, “One other thing: For ‘Fast and Furious 7,’ we are bringing it back to Los Angeles!”
I wouldn’t expect the entire film to take place in Los Angeles and it might just be the opening of the film but it should make fans of the series (of which, I am one of them) happy. The series has become a globetrotting affair with adventures taking place in Miami, Tokyo, Mexico, Brazil and now Europe so it would be a little surprising to see them scale that back for the entire film. We were having a good time imagining the crew jumping the Great Wall in China.
James Wan is taking over for Justin Lin (which is great news if you’ve seen the parking garage scene in DEATH SENTENCE) and FAST AND FURIOUS 7 comes to us, July 11, 2014.
