John Ary here with Blu-ray review of Sam Raimi's buried and under appreciated second film.
Crimewave not only reunites the director with his Evil Dead buddies Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert, but also brings the Coen brothers into the fold with one of their early scripts. This live-action cartoon/film noir hybrid from 1985 works well in short spurts, while giving us a vivid preview of Raimi's future as a genre director.
