I saw this teaser for LAST VEGAS last night in front of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS and my audience ate it up. I wasn’t so impressed and can only imagine the pitch meeting for this, “Hey, so we have this great idea for a movie. It’s like THE HANGOVER but with decrepit, elderly, far better actors than this material, starring in it.”
Everything about this project just feels hacky, from writers, Dan Fogelman (CARS, CRAZY STUPID LOVE) & Adam Brooks (BRIDGET JONES: THE EDGE OF REASON) to director, Jon Turteltaub (both NATIONAL TREASURE films, THE KID). I know that Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline are all in the twilight of their careers but they are better than what this trailer suggests we are going to get. I guess we will find out when THE BUCKET LIST 2, THE HANGOVER 4, LAST VEGAS hits theaters November 1, 2013.
