This is our first extensive look at THE CONGRESS, Ari Folman's long-awaited follow-up to his celebrated WALTZ WITH BASHIR. This is a bit of an odd bird: based on a story by Stanislaw Lem, it's a live-action/animated mix about actress Robin Wright (played by Robin Wright) surrendering control of her likeness to a mysterious corporation. As you can see in the below trailer, the company proceeds to plug her into all manner of artificial environments, some of which should be very familiar to movie geeks.

THE CONGRESS premieres at the Cannes Film Festival this month. I imagine we'll see it in theaters before the end of the year. This is one to keep your eye on.
