Warner Brothers is moving ahead with a remake of GREMLINS. So who is producing!?!

Hey Yo! Draven here.

This is news that pisses me off and will probably piss most of you off too, but Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Warner Brothers is moving ahead with a Seth Grahame-Smith produced remake of Joe Dante’s 1984 classic, GREMLINS. (If you haven't read Quint's open letter on this subject please fix that.) There is no word yet on who might write or direct but I wouldn’t be shocked if Grahame-Smith ends up at least writing it as well.

I am sure this is going to be a CGI heavy remake and I don’t want to seem too negative but I have a feeling this is going to be a disaster. Producer-wise, we are going from the guy who made JAWS to the guy who wrote PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES. I am not sure what WB sees in this guy, as their Grahame-Smith written adaptation of DARK SHADOWS was a disappointment at best and a disaster at worst and Fox’s adaptation of his novel, ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, was also a bomb. So I wonder if there is a scenario where this works for most/some/any of us? I guess we will see if WB knows something we don’t when their remake of GREMLINS hits screens in the next few years.
