Last week Norman Bates lost the hottest girl in school and his dog in the space of about five minutes. That could drive me psycho! I am shocked how much I am enjoying Carlton Cuse’s “Bates Hotel,” but perhaps I shouldn’t be. Somebody who looks like Wynn Duffy joined the cast last week.

“Revolution,” already renewed for next season, hit another personal low last Monday. But it still beat already-renewed “Hawaii Five-0, which also dropped to a new personal the same hour. (ABC’s “Castle” won the 10 p.m. hour.)
Already-renewed “Bates Motel,” meanwhile,” matched its season high.
Syfy’s “Defiance” is doing better than a lot of scripted Syfy shows, but it lost last week one of its creators, “Deep Space Nine”/“Galactica” vet Michael Taylor.
