The Vulcan Vault: Fred Ward And Alec Baldwin MIAMI BLUES (1990)!!

The Vulcan Vault

John Ary here with another installment of The Vulcan Vault...

Alec Baldwin in Miami Blues

This week we're off to sunny Florida for one of Alec Baldwin's meatiest roles. When a con man assumes the identity of a washed-up detective (played by a grizzled Fred Ward), the two men square off in a brilliant game of cat and mouse. Miami Blues also features an adorable Jennifer Jason Leigh as a prostitute with a heart of gold. We also get some great supporting performances from SNL's Nora Dunn, 80's hard-ass Charles Napier and Principal Vernon himself Paul Gleason. I would have loved to have seen these characters come back for a series of Hoke Moseley detective films.

Miami Blues is available on DVD. BIG NEWS for folks that enjoy The Vulcan Vault. Starting next week, we're going to do a month of special guest recommendations from some really interesting folks. We'll be kicking off our special month of awesome with a self proclaimed "World Champion" and former NBC sitcom star. He's really into bad movies. Don't worry though about our trusty band of Vulcan film pickers. They will return in June.
