I want to go to Texas Frightmare Weekend in the worst way, even if it is in Dallas (kidding, Dallas readers!). I've heard so many great things over the years about it, and that it's a haven for horror fans across the country. They always have great guests, panels, and feature films. This year, they'll be showing movies like the MANIAC remake with Elijah Wood, Ben Wheatley's SIGHTSEERS (which is a delightful horror comedy, saw it at Fantastic Fest last year), Neil Jordan's BYZANTIUM, and much more. There's one particular horror film playing called THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ROSALIND LEIGH which I've heard great things about - supposedly it achieves a lot on a limited budget.
Probably the biggest reason I want to go (two reasons, actually) is that Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright will be attending. ALIEN's one of the All-Times, and I don't normally do the celebrity thing, but I just couldn't pass up meeting two actors from one of my favorite movies of all time. You can go to the Texas Frightmare Weekend site and purchase tickets for a day or the whole weekend.
Or... you could wn a pair from me! I've got two pairs of tickets to give away - two weekend passes, which are normally $65 for each ticket - so you;re going to have to jump through some hoops for this one. So get out your cameras, and reenact your favorite horror movie moment. It can be a still shot or it can be a video (post it on YouTube and send me the link), and I get to judge the best entries and award two of them with a pair of tickets. You have a week to do this - final entries must be in by Friday, Apirl 26th at midnight and I will choose the winners next Saturday. Texas Frightmare Weekend Announces Expanded Schedule, New Guests

Today, our 2013 extravaganza proudly welcomes Gary Jones' AXE GIANT: THE WRATH OF PAUL BUNYANand star Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams, himself!), who joins our ever-growing list of top horror celebrities descending upon The Hyatt Regency DFW next month!
On Friday, May 3rd, the mammoth festival opens its doors at 6PM (5PM for VIPs), welcoming bone-chilling panels on Pet Sematary, Gary and Jake Busey, and more! Films that evening include Christmas with the Dead at 6PM, the aforementioned Axe Giant at 10PM, and Jacob and Scream Park at midnight!
On Saturday, May 4th, Texas Frightmare kicks off a powerful threefer of hotly-anticipated chillers from IFC Films, with the Texas Premiere of Franck Khalfoun’s Maniac remake at 8PM, Ben Wheatley’s stunning Sightseers at 10PM, and Neil Jordan’s Byzantium, the acclaimed Interview with the Vampire director’s long-awaited return to the land of the undead, at midnight! Also screening on Saturday is Rodrigo Gudiño's The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh and Chuck Norfolk's gross-out comedy Haunted Trailer (both at 6PM), Mark Beal's vampiric Enchiridion at 8PM, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show at midnight! Saturday's panel line-up includes The World of Stuart Gordon, TFW's Alien reunion, the witches of The Lords of Salem, Danny Trejo, and much more!
And Sunday, May 5th, we've got even more happening, with panels featuring Clu and John Gulager, Dee Wallace, and Tom Savini - as well as a very special matinee screening of Adjust Your Tracking: The Untold Story of a VHS Collector at 1PM!
All film screenings are completely free for passholders, and will conveniently take place at The Hyatt Regency DFW – the home of Texas Frightmare Weekend! Want more?
