Beaks here...
Julian Fellowes, creator of DOWNTON ABBEY and Academy Award winning-screenwriter of Robert Altman's GOSFORD PARK, is a pretty conservative... dude, so I'm not at all surprised to see that he's mounted a rigorously traditional retelling of ROMEO AND JULIET. I'm not sure there's anything to this version save for plugging some interesting actors into familiar roles (I'm a fan of Paul Giamatti as Friar Laurence), but, hell, I've sat through so many terrible theatrical productions of this play, this should be painless at worst.
The trailer is a slackly-edited highlight reel of the entire play, so, um, spoilers?
